Security awareness training

Purpose

Security Awareness Training helps to improve user awareness of the security risks associated with their everyday actions. This type of training focuses on user accountability and autonomy, whereby users better understand their role within a shared responsibility model of information security. Depending on your technical background, some of the concepts and considerations might be new, while others might serve as a helpful refresher.

Government of Canada produced content.

  • Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada, in collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts, has produced two training resources for researchers related to research security and information/cyber security. Both trainings produce a certificate of completion should documentation be required.

      • Approximately 38 minutes.

      • General focus on why research security matters, how research can be targeted, and how to protect your research.

    • Cybersecurity for Researchers.

      • Narrower focus on information/cyber security.
